We perform the assessment with the help of the following standard tools like
We use the current version of BSIDII to assess the development of infants & toddlers from the age of 1 month to 42 months. It consists ofa series of developmental play tasks that might take around 45-60 minutes. This will help determining the toddler’s DQ (Developmental Quotient) and IQ (Intelligence Quotient). It also includes subtests like
• Cognitive Scale:attention to familiar & unfamiliar objects, pretend play etc.
• Language Scale: understanding & expression of language
• Motor Scale: assess both gross & fine motor skills.
This assessment tool is used to assess children between the ages of 3 & 15 years. This tool is primary used to assess a child’s visual-motor skills. It is used to evaluate a child’s cognitive ability, eye-hand coordination, shape concept & visual perception.
This is a psychometric assessment tool that will assess a child’s social competence. This tool consists of a questionnaire and consists of 8 sub-tests:
* Communication Skills
* General Self-Help Ability
* Locomotion Skills
* Occupation Skills
* Self-Direction
* Self-Help Eating
* Self-Help Dressing
* Socialization Skills
This is an individual assessment of children between the age of 6 & 16 years. It usually takes an hour to complete. This tool helps in generating a Full Scale IQ, representing a child’s general intellectual ability. It derives 5 ancillary composite scores from the different combinations of the following 5 sub-tests:
* Verbal Comprehension Index
* Visual Spatial Index
* Working Memory Index
* Fluid Reasoning Index
* Processing Speed Index
This assessment tool is an adaptation of the WISC tool, used for children between the ages of 6 & 15 years. This tool helps derive an IQ score for each age group. It has 11 sub-sets, out of which 6 form the verbal scale while 5 form the performance scale.
